Healing process

Me, years ago,  giving Jeanie the worst haircut of her life (she forgave me and we started getting a hairdresser to come over from then on)

She is Gone
You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she lived,
You can close your eyes and wish she could come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all the love that she gave us.

Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.

You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes,
love and go on.

EVERYTHING you have written about Jeanie is so beautiful
and it just keeps her alive!!! I feel her love and strength and even though we never met, i just know her……….

Hi Nancy, Posting an entry about or for Jeanie every day has been a huge healing process for me. I know my community of family and friends are reading these posts. Jeanie’s life was so big and she gave so much that I have to share that with everyone. She makes us all want to be better mothers, better children, better human beings. Her sons, Vince and John, have planned a beautiful memorial service for July 16th. I can’t wait to be with my family and to hold “our boys”. love, Fran
