Little Si

I have been teaching a lot and haven’t had much time for blogging.  Plenty of ideas and drafts in the making, but I have not posted since the 4th of July.

I recently went on a lovely hike with Christine, Craig, and Adelaide to Little Si which is near Mount Si.  Adelaide is a delightful girl who happens to do really great yoga and came to Yoga in the Park two weeks ago.   I was amazed she could hike the 5 miles as well as she did at Little Si!

As we approached Little Si hiking trail, we passed a cemetery with a sign that read “Mount Si Cemetery” and the following conversation took place:

“Mommy, did all those people die hiking on the mountain?”  (Adelaide is a good reader and, like lots of kids, sometimes takes words at face value.)

“No, Adelaide.  The town is called Mount Si and the cemetery is for all the people who lived and died in this town over many years.  People don’t die hiking the mountain.”

Here are a few photos from our hike.  Yes, the weather was warm, unusually humid, and overcast.  The gray clouds hung low overhead and we all wondered if we would get soaked, but we didn’t.   Just as we ended the hike, a few sprinkles started coming down.
