Days like today are the bonus days of summer. Rick and I woke up to sunshine and the promise of a very warm day, so after breakfast, we packed a lunch, our tent, pillows, and some books and headed to our local beach, Protection Point, where we spent the day.

Rick and I are spending as much time together as we can before I leave for Italy on Tuesday, September 11th! The trip is coming up fast and though I am pretty excited about it, I am enjoying being present and savoring each and every day right here at home with my sweetheart.
I will write more about the upcoming Italy retreat in another blog entry. For now, I leave you with this collage from today’s beach time.
